Sidelining the usage of mobile wallets for payment Whatsapp launched their own payment method now WhatsApp Payment Is Live-Send And Receive Money Through WhatsApp.
WhatsApp is the most used messaging app all over the world and India also.Everybody who has a smartphone you will definitely find Whatsapp installed on their phone.
The Messaging app giant keeps on adding beautiful features with their update and this time WhatsApp takes a giant leap by introducing UPI functionality in their Messaging app.
As India is growing very fast in digital payment sector launching UPI is messaging app can be a huge step.
According to a report, WhatsApp’s latest beta release on Android (version 2.18.113) brings along the ability to request money from contacts and UPI addresses.
This feature was first seen by a twitter user @FidatoCA and according to him it only pop-ups when someone tries to request money from you using the UPI Address.
How To Use WhatsApp Payment:-
Like other UPI systems, you also have to activate WhatsApp UPI for the First time.
Let’s take a look how to do it.
1.Open the chat of any person and click on the attachment tab there you will see the PAYMENT option.
2. Click on PAYMENT Option then Accept their terms and condition to continue.
3.Link You bank Account by verifying your phone number.
To Request Payment From Someone
You have to go to Settings > Payments > New Payment and enter the UPI address or scan the QR code.
Once you’ve verified the UPI address of the receiver it will pop-up the option to ‘pay money’ or ‘Request money’ option.
As soon as you click on Request Money, you just need to enter the amount and send the request.
Pending requests expire in 24 hours and you can see these in the Payments menu under the settings. The status is updated once your contact accepts or declines the request.
Now, it only supports UPI ID.It will show the list of contacts having UPI ID, you can also add VPA Address manually in WhatsApp.
